ATOMA is a visual artist based in Bucharest, whose works can be seen in many cities across Romania. She studied painting at the Faculty of Arts in Bucharest and mural art at the Faculty of Decorative Arts in Bucharest.

ATOMA’s artistic practice directly addresses and critically examines the impact of technology and (social/mass) media on society and on the individual. The influence of media and social media risks reshaping and subordinating social relationships, distorting reality through its commercial idealization and glossy representation. (Social/mass) media infiltrates the relationship between individuals and their environment, assuming the role of an “essential” mediator, while often becoming manipulative.

ATOMA exposes this illusion, revealing its persuasive, subtle, and viral nature — a force that generates dependency and holds individuals and communities in an increasingly profound state of captivity. The artist reinterprets classical aesthetics and visual clichés, integrating symbolic elements of technology and contemporary media. The deliberate visual intensity transforms her works into manifest-like statements, engaging them in a discourse rooted in activism.

Consumerism, isolation caused by increasingly virtual forms of communication, escapism through video games, dependence on dietary supplements, and smartphone addiction are among the themes ATOMA explores without compromise through mural works, oil painting, photography, and installation. Her works reveal the inherently subversive and invasive nature of these contemporary phenomena.

ATOMA has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Her murals can be found in various cities across Romania, including Bucharest, Târgu Jiu, Bacău, Sibiu, Satu Mare, Petroșani, Râmnicu Vâlcea, and Galați.
